The Distant Town’s Torrent

The Kangxi Emperor of Qing dynasty appreciated the strength of Yuntai Mountain and Zhenhuai coming into the sea. In 1691, when he returned to Beijing, he dispatched his personal eunuch Wu Ge to pray in Yuntai Mountain, and granted the plaque “the distant town’s torrent” to Sanyuan Palace. At that time, the Yuntai Mountain wasn’t connected to the land and stood in the sea.
